The patron of Essential Communities is Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi; a distinguished Islamic scholar, jurist, writer, teacher and orator.
As an heir and exemplar of the Prophetic Way, Shaykh Muhammad, has always been an inspiration. With decades of experience in the areas of education and spiritual mentoring, Shaykh Muhammad’s guidance, vision, love, and supplications have strongly influenced and shaped our work and ethos in the fields of da’wah and grassroots outreach work.
Shaykh Muhammad has devoted his entire life to teaching, writing and humanitarian service. Originally from Damascus, he currently resides in Morocco, where he continues his scholarly work.
